Antonio Bilotta is a young sculptor of profound introspection, with an attentive and coherent view to the poetic properties of his material. His sculpture is distinguished by a simple, singular technique and an idealistic process that is able to give life to elusive countenances in which the details of the material are revealed and concealed in an unceasing movement.

Through the way he models his subjects, Bilotta suggests a meditation that frees the viewer’s eye from the realization of a static reality in favor of its perception. Assembling all the aspects that the clay seems to offer, the artist comes to his own particular form of introspective expressivity, capable of magnifying the dialectic relation between form and formlessness.

Exfoliated from primordial matter, uncertain expressions testify to the weight, emotional and intellectual, of a humanity conscious of its own destiny and yet searching for the meaning of being.

Suspended between exhaustion and uncertainty, about to vanish into a concrete nothingness, while at the same time permeated by a profound and inconsolable desire to survive, they stand before us and scrutinize us, with their wide eyes, only just sketched, open in a prehensile but austerely fixed gaze that gives warning without provoking fear.

Vision cannot be understood as the simple reproduction of an image. In this visual perception, the mind proceeds together with the soul, to translate reality into a profound and jolted metavision.

Antonio Bilotta est un jeune sculpteur porté à l’introspection, posant un regard toujours attentif et cohérent sur sa propre poétique de la matière.
Sa sculpture se distingue par une mise en œuvre simple et singulière et par un processus idéal capable d’animer des visages fuyants dont les détails sont révélés et figés dans la matière, en un mouvement incessant.

Grâce à sa façon de modeler ses sujets, Bilotta propose une réflexion libérant le regard du spectateur de l’interprétation de la réalité immobile au profit de sa perception.
Exploitant toutes les facettes que l’argile semble lui proposer, l’artiste se dirige vers une forme d’expressivité introspective qui lui est propre, capable d’amplifier le rapport dialectique entre le défini et l’indéfini.

Ses visages aux traits incertains, se décomposant dans la matière originelle, témoignent du poids, émotionnel et intellectuel, d’une humanité consciente de son destin mais tout de même à la recherche du sens de son existence.
Flottant entre l’épuisement et l’incertitude, sur le point de disparaître dans le néant de la matière, mais aussi parcourus par un désir de survie profond et insatiable, ils sont devant nous et nous observent, avec leurs grands yeux ouverts, à peine ébauchés : leur regard est captivant, mais d’une fixité austère, qui met en garde sans inspirer de la terreur.

Sa vision ne peut être comprise comme la simple reproduction d’une image. Dans cette perception visuelle, l’esprit avance avec l’âme, pour traduire la réalité en une profonde et bouleversante métavision.

Antonio bilotta è un giovane scultore di profonda introspezione, con uno sguardo sempre attento e coerente alla propria poetica della materia.

La sua scultura si contraddistingue per un fare semplice e singolare e per un procedimento idealistico capace di dar vita a volti sfuggenti, in cui i particolari si rivelano e si celano nella materia, in un passaggio incessante.

Attraverso la modalita con la quale modella i suoi soggetti, Bilotta propone una riflessione che libera lo sguardo dello spettatore dalla fruizione della realtà statica a favore della sua percezione.

Raccogliendo tutte le sfaccettature che l’argilla sembra porgergli, l’artista approda a una sua forma di espressività introspettiva, in grado di amplificare il rapporto dialettico fra forme e informe.
I suoi volti dalle sembianze incerte, sfaldate in materia primordiale, testimoniano il peso, emozionale ed intellettuale di un’umanità cosapevole del proprio destino eppure alla ricerca del senso dell’esistenza.

Sospesi tra la spossatezza e l‘incertezza, in procinto di svanire in un nulla materico, ma nello stesso tempo pervasi da un profondo e inconsolabile desiderio di soppravvivere, stanno li davanti a noi e ci scrutano, con i loro occhi larghi, appena abbozzati, aperti in uno sguardo prensile, ma di austera fissità, che ammonisce senza incutere terrore.

La visione non puo essere intesa come la semplice riproduzione di un’immaggine. In questa percezione visiva
al mente procede insieme all’anima, per tradurre la realtà in una profonda e sobbalzante metavisione.
